I have no idea why it isn't just gobsmackingly obvious to everybody, but I've long since come to terms with acknowledging that it just isn't. But ... Joel Spolsky takes on
why programmers aren't interchangable, and why real talent is worth more than you're paying for it. He does find a new line of attack, or at least it's new to me, so there's that.
